You should be aware that those that make good predictions (or are in contact with good predictors) have more chances to get points.

So, they are not exactly 'free'. You must either be lucky or spend time looking for info or watching the players themselves.

I will miss the free Z-Keys just as much as anyone, but I can also do Zaishen Elite everyday and get Balthazar Faction to purchase Z-Keys!

This game isn't designed to play favorites toward those who prefer PVE to PVP or vice versa. PVP players still get more points than PVErs anyway if they both vote and participate in the tournaments. So I don't know what you're mad at since PVP players get more anyway. And no I'm not saying people should get Balthazar faction from PVE; that wouldn't make sense, although people still get the faction from PVE using a Flame of Balthazar. But yes, PVE players deserve the Zaishen keys just as much as the PVP players but they get less because they don't like the idea of using Wiki builds to kill other in game people in tournaments.

This is one of the few methods of interacting with Guild Wars while not playing it. This feature is good to keep the interests of the players up if they can't play.
This thing won't go away.

That wouldn't work because even if you vote and get nothing right you still get 5 points, which entitles you to 1 Z key. Making them 20 RP each would get you nothing.

Oh, ok. So I guess you think PvErs should have a way to get hero/gladiator/champion too, huh? Balthazar faction in PvE makes as much sense as PvErs getting PvP rewards when they don't want to PvP. As you said, no sense.

PvE players have PvE rewards that PvP players can't get, and vice versa. It makes them slightly more unique. A PvE reward is a PvE reward, you should PvE for it. A PvP reward is a PvP reward, you should PvP for it.

Also, regardless of whether PvE players like PvP or not, the bottom line is they can't get RPs from ATs because they aren't good enough to participate in them. Face it, even if most of the PvE players who wanted RPs and enjoyed PvP wouldn't be able to get them anyways.

Please, stop thinking that you deserve the same rewards. The players who PvP actually have to do something that takes skill (well, most of the time), all you have to do is pick 8 random guilds and people. You may get reward points, but you certainly don't deserve them. No one who only does XTH deserves them.

I think XTH is a good thing for players that aren't farming or power trade savvy to get some income. Its just those few people that have 10+ accounts making it to where its the equivalent of buying 200 keys off the internet a month(driving the price of z-keys down about 200g a month). I hope arena net finds some way to moderate this. Maybe requiring people to have all 4 campaigns so its not so cheap to exploit this system, or maybe they don't care about having a fair game because there getting paid.

Fix the XTH so people aren't whining about missing out on their free stuff, make the Zaishen keys non-tradable... free stuff won't translate into free money, people crying about the effects of z-keys on the economy can be happy, whiny PvP'ers complaining about PvE'ers getting money that they don't deserve will be happy...

This is possibly a better option than trying to remove the XTH, and still leaving Z-keys, the zaishen title and chest in the game, which would be really pointless. The only people who seem to advocate this are PvP'ers or those who adulate them... which is odd that the same people that mock the title (Zaishen) and refer to it as a meaningless PvE title that can be bought... are trying to keep it in the realm of PvP.

A lot of good points made here and there on this whole thing. As far as PVE players not deserving Z-Keys unless they PVP....I'll just say that I avoided the PVP side of the game for 2 years because of the arrogance found in (and only in thus far) the PvP Elitists. And saying that PvE player are not deserving of PvP rewards is a prime example. Don't be so selfish. We all paid for the same game right? Exactly...

Eventually though, a friend talked me into joining him on an AB team one night and I've been exploring the PvP side of the game ever since. Watching matches, reading the forums here and comments about the matches from the team members as well as the general public. Checking the stats, ranks, comparing builds etc. Sure, you could say I'm an addict now. I truly admire a lot of the teams now because some of the matches are more entertaining than beating any storyline for the 29th time or mindlessly farming for hours on end. Hell I have people that work with me & play GW debating on which team will do what each month all day in the office.

With that being said, I can't help but find the irony in PvP players that take so much pride in what they do trying to chase off the very same people that admire their gameplay, progress, and ongoing competitions each month. Sure, there are some that pay no mind to anything but maybe the rankings and base predicts off of that.... but that isn't everyone I can assure you.

Picket the XTH if you want to, bank on losing a big chunk of attention from the general public, and enjoy having your precious "PvP only rewards" all to yourselves in PvPLand.

In short: The idea of closing the XTH reeks of failbait.
